The coastal avenue attracts the
society life of the town and leads from the commercial sector of the port up to the small bays in the
eastern part of the town. Modern Volos is a beautiful, large, provincial town full of life and offering all kinds of entertainment. The picturesque sandy beaches and verdant hills attract many nature lovers, both Greeks and foreigners, all year round.

Tourism has developed rapidly thanks to the magical beauties of Pelion. Throughout time thousand
of visitors have passed Volos heading for the villages of Pelion during the winter season, taking mountaineering and skiing excursions to the villages, during the summer season looking for entertainment in the sea to indulge in their favorite water sports.

Important sights of the town are in the archeological area of Diminiou, that is one of the old settlements of the Ancient Neolithic Period, the Athanasakio museum, the Ancient theater of Dimitriadas, the folklore museum of Kitsou Makri, the museum of Theofilo.

The cultural development of the town
is progressing. There is a folk school Art Center -Georgio de Kiriko- Center of Musical Theater, Drama School, library, Folk Theater, Folk Music School and Symphonic Orchestra of Youth.
In the same town there are two galleries, one in Volos and the other in the Municipality of Nea Ionia.
Flying Dolphins are departing from Volos for Sporades all year long. The airport of Anchialos is 30 km away, the Thessaloniki airport is 230km and the El. Venizelos airport 350km.

Finally you must not leave Volos without going to a 'Tsipouradiko' to try the traditional dips with
ouzo that Volos is known for.
